Olga Magaletska took part in the webinar "OECD Monitoring of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine 2035"

On June 11, 2020, Olga Magaletska, Head of the Office of the National Investment Council, took part in the webinar "OECD Monitoring of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine 2035", organized by OECD and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kyiv.

The webinar participants discussed the results of the analysis of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2035, the strengths and weaknesses of the current roadmap, and recommendations for government officials as they revise the energy strategy.

The discussion was attended by: Yaroslav Demchenkov, Deputy Minister for European Integration Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine; H.E. Mr Ole T. Horpestad, Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine; Andreas Schaal, Director for Global Relations, OECD; Geoff Upton, Policy Analyst for Ukraine, Global Relations Secretariat, OECD; Roman Nitsovych, Research Director, DiXi Group; representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine, the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and European Union Support Group for Ukraine.

Olga Magaletska thanked the OECD and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ukraine for the comprehensive support of Ukraine and the development of such a detailed and qualitative analysis. She noted that in order to achieve a truly high-quality final document, it is necessary to hold the recommendations provided by the OECD analysis. According to her, it is desirable that the revised Energy Strategy and Action Plan have a clear KPI, deadlines, structure and roadmap. The Head of the Office also proposed to fix in a future document the option of a quarterly report on the work already done, achieved goals and deadlines for future KPI.

Olga Magaletska also emphasized that it is extremely important for the Office of the National Investment Council that the updated Energy Strategy of Ukraine provides favorable conditions for the attraction of new investments in Ukraine, improving the business climate and compliance with international agreements.

She also noted that the Office of the National Investment Council, for its part, is ready to assist and help in drafting of documents in order to have a really actionable and good document beneficial to all stakeholders.
